June 2009: THE PAC ATTACC

ATTENTION: The State is offering a series of campaign finance seminars to explain disclosure laws to candidates, treasurers, political action committees, party organizations and boards of election.  There will be meetings on 6/4/09 in Syracuse at the Curtain Public Library Auditorium and 6/4/09 in Auburn at the Cayuga County Board of Elections.  Both sessions will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm.  You can go to WWW.Elections.State.NY.US, or call 518-474-8200.

The CSEA Endorsement process is about to begin.  We are encouraging new members to join the Local 834 PAC team.  There are several political positions in the County and City that are coming up in the next election cycle.

The Local 834 PAC team is looking for guidance on questions to ask candidates after the questionnaire process is completed.  This is when we sit down face to face with candidates and ask the questions we feel are important in our decision making process for endorsement.

Some current suggestions revolve around the retirement health care issues we are now facing; safety issues regarding installing security systems in the Civic Center; as well as the importance of the role of the current Health Care Coalition.
