Our Legal Services Program (known as "LSP") is designed to provide our members and their families/dependents with legal representation in four distinct areas:

Our Legal Assistance Program (known as "LAP")
is designed to assist our members through various work-related issues (other than Workers' Compensation or Social Security Disability). LAP covers employment and labor issues involving:

Contract grievance arbitrations

Court litigation

Agency proceedings

In addition to administering the Legal Assistance and
Legal Services Programs, the Department also provides
the following services to the organization

Counsel to CSEA in statewide PERB, NLRB and SERB matters

Counsel to CSEA in litigation of statewide importance or precedent

Counsel for LAP-approved cases in Regions 3, 4 & 5

Legal and technical advice to field staff and elected officers

Advisory and clerical support to several Standing and Ad Hoc Committees
