January 2012: Cuomo's Pension Reform

As you know, Governor Cuomo has proposed the creation of yet another pension tier. This new tier will require employees to choose a 401(k) type retirement plan or accept a reduced pension plan that requires increased employee contributions and requires the employee to work longer in order to get a smaller benefit. This inclusion of the 401(k) type will result in a weaker pension system threating the retirement security for all our members, past - present - and future.

The Empire Page is a well read clearinghouse of newspaper clippings in New York State. They are having on-line voting to "grade" Governor Cuomo's pension plan. Please take the time to vote. The vote is a grading system from "A" to "F".
